NBPA Statement regarding Ballymena Disorders 12/06/2025

The National Black Police Association (NBPA) is deeply saddened by the recent rioting in Ballymena, during which innocent members of the public and our colleagues in the Police Service of Northern Ireland have been subjected to threats and violent disorder.

Our thoughts are also with the victim of the alleged sexual assault.

We urgently call for law and order to prevail, and for mutual respect among all who live and work in our communities, as well as for the police officers working tirelessly to restore peace.

While we recognise the ongoing political challenges, violence must never be allowed to divide our communities or undermine the significant and progressive work we have achieved together in recent
years.

We must stand united to protect individuals from ethnically diverse backgrounds who are facing racism and senseless violence.

The NBPA stands in solidarity with all affected and remains available to support our colleagues and communities.
